McConnel has added two new 60hp Power Arms models to its popular 55-Series hedgecutter range resulting in an unrivalled combination of value, power and performance – making it ideal for farmers, contractors, and local government grass maintenance teams.

The new PA5555-60 and PA5755-60 comes with reach of 5.5m and 5.7m respectively and gain an additional five horsepower increase over the standard PA5155 and PA5455 which have 5.1m and 5.4m cutting reach respectively and 55hp hydraulic system.

In addition to the step-up in reach and hydraulic horsepower, the three-point linkage mounted Power Arms also gains an integrated oil cooler for increased longevity, redesigned rear guards for easier service access and high visibility LED road lighting.

McConnel’s parallel-arm and Hy-reach geometry continue to come as standard, as do seam welded c-section arms and fully bushed pivot points to reduce stress and ensure greater durability. Hydraulic Power Slew is another standard feature and enabling safe, compact transport and provides operators with the flexibility to cut precisely in tight corners.

Both the new PA5555-60 and PA5755-60 are available with either cable controls or Motion control – McConnel’s popular electronic proportion control system.

Cutting attachments include a selection of flailheads from 1.2m to 1.5m, rotary heads, cutterbars and sawheads. A heavy duty ditch and grip cleaner can also be specified.

McConnel’s ever popular 70-series Power Arms have been specially designed for professional contractors and large-scale farmers and offer outstanding quality, reliability, and performance.

Built from super strength Strenx steel, which makes our Power Arms stronger and lighter than the competition, the 70-Series offer a high specification as standard including 70hp hydraulic system, high capacity oil cooler, 3-point or 5-point axle mounting, 3 different control options and flailhead cutting widths up to 1.6m.

Five models are available, with a choice of varying reach configurations – including at 5.5m, 6.0m and 6.5m standard arms and moving up to the 6.5m and 7.0m telescopic arm machines.

Customers can also choose between a standard fixed arm or the top-of-the-range Variable Forward Reach (VFR) configuration, which improves visibility, comfort and safety.

At the heart of the machines is a 70hp gear hydraulic system, which is controlled by an in-house designed and manufactured valve block. Performance has also further boosted thanks to the introduction of a high-capacity oil cooler.

• A “soft-start” rotor which dramatically reduces the initial start-up loads and stresses traditionally associated with high horsepower reach mowers.

• Optional integrated debris blower located within the guarding of the machine.

• Option to add additional hydraulic services to control hydraulic front hoods and rollers of flailheads as well as further options such as orbital head brackets for working down narrow lanes.

Four different control packages are available on all models, including the popular MOTION proportional controls and the top of the range REVOLUTION control system, which offers more functionality and features our award winning Easy Drive System, which significantly increases working speeds when verge mowing.

To help customers create the perfect set-up to match their needs, a wide range of attachments are available including MultiCut flailheads from 1.2m to 1.6m with a choice of flails, 1.2m and 1.5m TwinCut flailhead a heavy-duty rotary head, a Ditch and Grip Cleaner, and a selection of sawheads and cutterbars.

McConnel’s, heavy-duty, flagship 85-Series Power Arms that are available in reach options from 6.0m to 9.0m and come with 85hp hydraulics is now available POWERBOOST, an advanced hydraulic feature that increases arm movement speeds on demand.

Powerboost dramatically increases the speed of arm movements by up to three times for complex arm manoeuvres, making it ideal for professional contractors working around roadside obstacles or in varied terrain. A progressive control system gradually increases arm speed the further the joystick is extended – ensuring operators can move from minute adjustments to rapid arm movement quickly and smoothly.

Powerboost is powered by an intelligent hydraulic technology that delivers an increase in oil flow of 200 per cent on demand.

Key features and benefits of POWERBOOST include:

 Super-fast arm movements on demand

 Faster working speeds and greater efficiency

Twose flagship 5-series offers four different reach options from 5.7m to 6.7m, 65hp independent hydraulic systems and a choice of controls. Robust and reliable, the 5-Series is built to thrive on the busy workloads of professional contractors thanks to its high capacity 200 litre oil reservoir and hydraulic oil cooler which is fitted as standard.

Three different armsets are available including; Standard; Telescopic – adding or retracting up to 1.0m of extra reach on demand; and a Cranked Forward Reach (CFR) – enhancing comfort, visibility and reducing fatigue.

Control options include simple progressive cable control, low pressure hydraulic joystick or Electric proportional joystick with touch-pad for additional functionality. Cutting attachments include 1.2m and 1.5m sliding mount flailheads with choice of flails and a selection of cutterbar and sawheads.
