Most people think of libraries as places that lend out only books and DVDs. Not in Page, it isn’t!

The “Library of Things” at the Page Public Library is a community service that offers a variety of things for patrons to check out – from sporting equipment kits to bikes to cake pans.

The collection supports lifelong learning, creativity and fun.

“This collection offers Page area library members the opportunity to be introduced to new and emerging technologies, to try out items before buying them, and encourages the ‘sharing economy’ by offering access to items that may normally be inaccessible to many patrons or needed just once or twice a year,” said Debbie Winlock, the director of Page Public Library.

The Page Public Library has always been a place where people can come to learn anything they are curious about – now they are offering patrons the tools to satisfy and encourage that curiosity.

The following items are available for check out:

• Early literacy kits

• Day hiking backpacks

• Overnight hiking bags

• DVD/CD players

• Waffle brick Maker

• Tools for DIY projects

• Horseshoe game kit

• Bubble maker machine

• Electricity usage monitor

• Inflatable sleeping pads

• Auto terminal removal key tool kit

The library accepts suggestions on items to add to its “Library of Things” and takes donations of gently used items for its collection. Donations of items will only be accepted if the item is in usable condition with a reasonable expectation it can circulate for at least one year after acquisition.

To donate items, email a description of the item to [email protected] Stop by your library to see what’s new!
